Contributors

A Contributor is another Scribe author who can write and submit articles for your site. Contributors keep full ownership of what they write — their articles live on their own account, not yours — but you remain the Site Owner: only you can manage site settings, create and rename groups, approve or reject submissions, and invite or remove contributors.

Invite or remove contributors
  1. Open your site in Scribe CMS and go to its Groups & Articles page.
  2. Click Invite Contributor.
  3. Enter the person’s Bluesky handle (e.g. alice.bsky.social) and click Look up.
  4. Once Scribe finds their profile, click Send Invite.

The invitation is sent as a Bluesky direct message with a link back to Scribe CMS, and also shows up automatically the next time they log in.

If someone invites you to contribute to their site, you’ll see an invitation prompt the next time you log in to Scribe CMS, naming the site and its owner. Click Accept to join, or Reject to decline. There’s no obligation — declining doesn’t notify the site owner of a reason, and you can be invited again later if circumstances change.

Once you accept, the site appears in your own Dashboard, Sites, and Groups pages, marked with a Contributor badge so you can always find your way back to it alongside your own sites.

Write your article as normal — it starts as a Draft on your own account, exactly like any other article you write. When it’s ready, use Submit to Site instead of Publish, and choose which site you’re submitting it to from your list of contributor sites.

The site owner sees it appear in their Submissions queue and decides whether to approve it (choosing which group it’s published into) or reject it. You’ll be notified of the outcome. A rejected article stays as your Draft — nothing is lost, and you can edit and resubmit it, or submit it elsewhere.

Once a site has at least one accepted contributor, a Discussion panel appears alongside its Groups & Articles page — a chat between the site owner and every accepted contributor, for coordinating on submissions, deadlines, or anything else. It works like any other message you’d send on Bluesky, just without needing to leave Scribe.

Open your site’s Groups & Articles page and click Remove next to their name in the Contributors list. This immediately revokes their access to the site’s management page and the Discussion panel. Articles they already had published remain published — removing a contributor doesn’t unpublish their past work.
